The

Table

Awaits

Hills Global Church is a place where sinners and saints break bread together — sharing meals, communion, and life — to discover Jesus and one another more deeply.

We follow Jesus, build community, and develop further through conversation, connection, and compassion.

Who We Are

Two people sitting on a vintage-style floral couch, smiling at the camera. The woman has long wavy hair with a headband and wears a dark green jumpsuit. The man has dark hair, a beard, and wears a maroon sweater over a shirt and brown pants. They are in a cozy room with some greenery and decorative objects on the mantel behind them.

You Are Welcome Here

Hills Global Church was founded by Javier and Danielle Mendoza — two missional, co-pastoring leaders who model shared authority and true partnership. We are a community shaped by love, hospitality, and intentional living. Our aim is not to build crowds but to cultivate connection — to be the Church everywhere, all at once.

What Makes Us Different

We place orthopraxy before orthodoxy, believing that what we do reveals what we truly believe.

We are egalitarian in both conviction and practice, affirming that men and women are equally created, called, and gifted to lead.

We reject patriarchy and political division as barriers to the promised Kingdom of God.

We are committed to hospitality, intimacy, conversation, and self-leadership — small gatherings, open tables, and honest dialogue that lead to transformation.

We don’t wait for people to find us; we go looking for one more person to join the table.

Our Story
Night view of a restaurant or café through a window with the word 'RELAX' on it; warm lighting, blurred interior with seated patrons, tables with flowers and bottles, cozy atmosphere.

We Are Not...

a political platform

We don’t mix the Gospel of Jesus with partisanship or ideology.

a performance stage

Worship here isn’t about production value — it’s about presence and participation.

a hierarchy

We don’t believe leadership equals superiority. We believe in equal partnership, self leadership, and shared calling.

a social club for the already convinced

We make space for doubt, curiosity, and spiritual growth — no perfection required.

a megachurch model

We’re intentionally intimate — small gatherings, open tables, and authentic conversation.

a place for power plays or patriarchy

Men and women are equals in the call to serve, lead, and love.

Our Values

“If you’re looking for polished performances or political sermons, this may not be your place—

But if you’re longing for community & conversation with Christ at the center — welcome home.”

— Javier Mendoza

Hills Global Church

Our Community Ethos

At Hills Global Church, belonging precedes belief.

We are curating a spiritual space where people feel safe to abide as they are and grow together through authentic relationships, shared meals, and honest conversation.

Our aim is to correct the cultural perception of church as distant, exclusive, or performance-based — and to return it to what Jesus intended: a place of warmth, hospitality, and shared life.

We believe that community is not built through programs but through proximity — we seek to gather around tables, meals, prayer, and experience the power of presence, together with open minded friends.

Each gathering is an opportunity for someone to find belonging and rediscover hope.

Our Beliefs
Four people clinking glasses of white wine together in a toast.

HILLS GLOBAL CHURCH

How We Learn

At Hills, we learn through conversation and story.
We open Scripture together — not as a lecture, but as a shared exploration of what Jesus said and how it shapes the way we live today.

Our goal is not to perform sermons but to spark dialogue and transformation. We believe theology and spiritual formation is best discovered in community and that our adopted beliefs must always lead to practice.

We believe faith was never meant to exist in isolation. So we listen, question, and apply God’s Word side by side — discovering together what it means to live in this world but not of it.

HILLS GLOBAL CHURCH

Our Community

At Hills, We’re building a family that feels more like what home should feel like — where the table is always set and there’s always room for one more.

Javier often says that his dad, Richard Mendoza, taught him the truest form of church — because no matter how far you’d been or how late you arrived, there was always a hot meal and a warm hug waiting when you came home.

  • “God does not change, but He uses change—to change us. He sends us on journeys that bring us to the end of ourselves. We often feel out of control, yet if we embrace His leading, we may find ourselves on the ride of our lives.”

    —JEN HATMAKER

  • “We don't believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe that we believe it. We believe something when we act as if it were true.”

    —DALLAS WILLARD

  • "God Values: Kindness over comparison. Celebration over envy. Reconciliation over being right. Love over self-consciousness."

  • "The solution to an overbusy life is not more time. It’s to slow down and simplify our lives around what really matters.”
